September 2021

September, the time when school holidays come to an end and new classes begin. The crops are gathered in and the fields are changing from golden to brown as they are ploughed and prepared for winter planting, a time to give thanks for the harvest.

HARVEST FESTIVAL service is planned for the 26th September at 11.00 am. We extend a warm welcome to all, young and old to celebrate with us and give thanks for the harvest. Please bring your gifts of food to the service.

All donated gifts of non-perishable food will be taken to the food bank. The perishables will be sold off after the service and the money from that sale will be donated to Farming Community Network.  https://fcn.org.uk. We think you will agree that both these are worthy causes.

JIGSAW is a new group which will begin on the 7th October 1.00 – 3.00. In the Priory Room at Wilberfoss Church. You will be made very welcome. We have a jigsaw library with lots of Jigsaws for you to borrow.  We do hope that you will pop in to see us, maybe stay awhile and chat with friends and have a cup of tea and a biscuit or cake.

CRAFT FAIR 2021 A chance to buy all your Christmas gifts under one roof! This will be held on 20th November from 10.00 – 3.00 at Church. Raffle tickets for the Christmas Quilt will be on sale soon! Our most popular Tombola, and the Bric a Brac stall along with creations of every sort will be available. Cake stall, bacon butties and cups of tea fun and laughter guaranteed.

CAKES AND SCARECROWS We are busy producing a masterpiece for the Scarecrow Festival this year. There will be a cake stall at Church on the 4th September so don’t forget to bring your wallet as you follow the trail set out by Wilberfoss Scarecrows who are raising money for Yorkshire Ambulance.

FEEDBACK AND SUGGESTIONS Following the request for feedback and suggestions, our Church has received many new ideas from the community. We also have a few offers of help. Please keep them coming. You can talk to us face to face or message via the facebook page.

Suggestions include:
